What @aphysicist says here is the exact same thing great programmers like @Jonathan_Blow and @cmuratori have been saying for years. Software is bloated, slow and low quality. How can we fix this?. I believe we need to cut unnecessary abstractions and complexity.
kinda insane we keep making faster and faster compute hardware but software keeps getting worse, prob just bc programmers are mostly bad now, software used to be good.

This is what comes to my mind when prospects say "We're ok for now". It's ok to be ok. But how long do you really want to be ok?. There's a whole world of improvements, efficiency and peace of mind that you're going to miss. And small changes can have an exponential impact.
