Chennai is a city with incredible culture, deep history and genuine warmth. But these corrupt, coercive and unfair practices are pushing honest tax paying citizens into anger and frustration. This cannot be allowed to continue. It is time to fix it. @narendramodi @RahulGandhi

Tamil Nadu has always been among the top performing states in India. Which makes this corruption and lawlessness even more disappointing. Even locals told me they face the same harassment. This is not just about outsiders.

Once you return, the real face shows. They demand extortion-level money for holding your bag for a few minutes. In my case, 4000 rupees for 10 minutes. When I resisted, they surrounded me and tried to intimidate me.

This gap is exploited by auto drivers and touts. They will approach you, act helpful, and offer to hold your bag. They hand you a slip with their number and rickshaw plate to appear trustworthy.

Security rules don’t allow applicants to carry bags or electronic devices inside. Fair enough. But here’s the problem: there’s no official locker facility nearby. For people traveling alone from other cities, this is not just an inconvenience, its a setup waiting to be exploited.

The second experience was even worse at the US Consulate. Inside everything was smooth. The staff were polite, respectful and professional. But outside is a completely different story.

During my trip, not a single @Uber_India @Olacabs driver agreed to the app fare. If they knew I was headed to or from the airport, they demanded double the price by default. They exploit urgency, leaving passengers with no real choice.

Just back from Chennai. The city is beautiful, the food is amazing, and the traffic… well, it’s chaotic like any other Indian metro. But there’s something different here and not in a good way.
