Thanks @TylerSbrt yes, a truly remarkable team! Thanks for your involvement
Truly an honor to be a part of this massive effort. The CAP and ProtecT trials are remarkable and will continue to inform our understanding for decades. And what an amazing team to work with!! 🙏🏼 @r_martin_ @Freddie_Hamdy et al.

2. Granted MRI and other reflex tests reduce over-diagnosis (and the Ix related morbidity) but is it going to change the lack of OS gain seen here? and how would another test instead of PSA achieve anything better in terms of OS? or much more in terms of PCM?

This is like before and after, but presented at the same time. Basic question (i) will any model of prostate screening alter OS to justify cost & resources needed (ii) if OS not endpoint, will we swap ⬇️morbidity from metastasis with⬆️tx related side effects for a small ⬇️in PCM

In this preliminary report from an ongoing clinical trial, a screening protocol—PSA test, a kallikrein panel risk score & MRI before targeted biopsy—detected 1 high-grade prostate cancer per 196 men and 1 low-grade prostate cancer per 909 men. https://t.co/ndwufNvhov

Compared with no invitation for routine PSA testing, a single invitation for a PSA screening test reduced prostate cancer mortality at a median follow-up of 15 years, but the absolute mortality benefit was small. https://t.co/tXiy0u50gg

Results from the largest trial to date on #ProstateCancer screening shows it has a small impact on reducing deaths but raises concerns of overdiagnosis.🔬 The @CR_UK CAPTrial @r_martin & @UniofOxford @Cambridge_Uni followed over 400,000 men over 15 yrs➡️ https://t.co/zX9sVaD343

@Freddie_Hamdy & @r_martin_ introduce 15yr f/u to #CAP_Study => now see small difference 0.7% vs 0.8% PCa death p=0.02 Need to screen 1000 men to save 1 life from PCa PCa mortality <1% at 15yrs... (20% all cause) #EAU24 @Uroweb
