'SA likely wouldn't cause damage' I sincerely hope no one leaves children unattended around you.
@quill_monger @sgtkwol @DelusionPosting It likely still wouldnt cause them physical or psychological damage, at least not the same way as it would to an adult. I think intent matters a lot here.

Besides access to different banana memes, how much are your @USAID handlers paying you to promote 'voluntary' circumcision?
Play it safe and smart.. It does not stop at Safe circumcision, use protection as well to ensure safety from HIV and STIs. Be in charge of your health. #TestedApprovedTrustedUg

There's something to be said grown adults who feel the need to interject their individual 'preferences' in conversations involving the ethics of cutting healthy children's anatomy. https://t.co/Nzm3BTa4Q1

@BloodstainedMen The gaslighting is really what sends me over the edge about this. It wasn't bad enough to mutilate him, but then you beat it into his head his whole life that it was good, & if he dares question that, all of society bombards him with mockery & lies. It's just so EVIL.

In 2023 people finally learn that sending children with fresh wounds on their anatomy to be SA'd perhaps isn't a good idea
The Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Embu and Kiambu county security committees have joined hands to fight an archaic tradition among newly circumcised boys of having unprotected sex as a cleansing ritual.

Hm… @RCScience has piece extolling “science” of circ, relying centrally on discredited work of B. Morris (& citing expired AAP policy, ignoring contrary current policies of all comparable int’l societies), w/o awareness of Morris’s manipulations of lit 🤔 https://t.co/3BdXGPGy7H
Despite clear evidence of benefit, American parents are turning away from male circumcision. "Rates of circumcision have fallen from about 85% in 1965 to roughly 58% in 2010, the latest year for which solid data is available." by @SteRoPo

In your article on newborn circumcision @la_story you mention concerns about bodyshaming, doesn't validating that by cutting him in essence make you his first bully, bypassing important lessons on boundaries and how to stick up for oneself and others? https://t.co/PkWTIzvCIy

Imagine believing normal parts of a child you helped create are a burden.

talking about children's rights is just hell bc you'll be like "children have a right to bodily autonomy and personal choice, including to set boundaries with their carers and guardians" and ppl will just start screaming about how baths and bedtimes aren't abusive

Imagine believing that you're performing corrective surgery on healthy children and calling it 'elective' in the same breath.
Circs are admittedly elective and maybe we should move elective genital surgery into the realm of adulthood or adolescence like we do with other corrective procedures. I’m open to that. But boy do the intactivists have a long way to go in accuracy and arguing with grace.
