That’s order or magnitude for a product I don’t use and I find distasteful but not a dealbreaker; if LVMH came knocking I’d probably take roughly $100k PIK for them.

Kalshi attempted to recruit me as a marketing influencer for them, but balked at my request for $300k, so FYI that’s one data point for the offer side of the order book.

Regardless of your personal opinion on the matter, in the coming culture war, supporting the proliferation of self-driving cars vs. human drivers will be generally culturally understood as a view that is:

I can’t believe you support self driving cars so fascist tech billionaires can suck more profits from the middle class vs. I can’t believe you support self driving cars so globalist elites can lock us in 15 minute cities and force us to eat bugs to stop global warming, etc. etc.

Self-driving feels like the early days of masking: everybody knew it was about to become a hyper polarized issue, but it wasn’t clear yet which team would pick which side of the issue, so there was a lot of bet hedging as the valence flipped back and forth before it crystallized.

This is definitely going to be a major culture war issue. One thing is that if AVs increase congestion (because the cost of time spent in a car goes down), then that’s going to impose significant costs on people who choose to keep driving.

This is a great piece with some mind-boggling statistics. - At Brown and Harvard, more than 20% of undergraduates are registered as disabled - At Amherst: more than 30 percent - At Stanford: nearly 40 percent Soon, many of these schools "may have more students receiving

The last year was the TPU's moment in the sun. The next 12 months might be different as the GB300 finally ramps. And then Rubin. Models trained and then inferenced on these GPUs are likely to show a dramatic leap in capability. I think we see the first significant AI

Why the FUCK is a $4 trillion company with a short interest under 1% secretly emailing refutations of a short report to analysts like they’re some kind of NASDAQ-CM shitco with Don Jr. on the board?

None of them, however, did the pencil and paper method, which is to note that if a rod of length L halfway equilibrates to 1 hot and 1 cold end, then to first order T(x) ~ (Th-Tc)(1-x/L), so it holds Q = 1/2*(Th-Tc)*L*A*rho*cp J of energy and L ~ 240 cm. ADMISSION DENIED.

The correct answer is 373 cm, which Gemini only missed because it did a numerically unstable linear interpolation for erf^-1 near 0. Gemini and Grok also caught the subtlety that the boundary condition is T = 1500 C even though the steel was initially 2000 C. Good job!

1. In first place is Gemini, which correctly did exactly what I would have done: set up the semi-infinite heat equation, integrate it to find total heat transfer vs. time, solve for t* when solidification occurs, and then invert u(x) at t=t* to determine the right length
