Super excited to see PPSD’s 2025 Teacher of the Year Maria Torres as one of the Grand Marshals in today’s Annual Dominican Parade in Providence. Torres is a teacher at Leviton Dual Language School.

Fue muy emocionante ver a las muchas familias que nos acompañaron ayer en un recorrido de la Escuela Primaria Lauro en donde asistiran el primer día de clases. Los estudiantes de Asa Messer se mudarán a un espacio provisional en Lauro mientras sus escuelas se convierten en PK-8.

We were excited to have so many Asa Messer families join us for a tour of Lauro Elementary School where they will be attending on the first day of school. @asamesser students will be moving into swing space at Lauro while a new Asa Messer/West Broadway PK-8 school is being built.

Congratulations to @ClassicalHSPVD alum Marquis Buchanan on making the Walter Payton Award watch list! A URI junior, Buchanan played football and basketball at Classical. He finished his high school football career with 165 catches for 3,178 yards and 33 touchdowns. Go Purple!.
Marquis Buchanan has made the 30-man preseason watch list for the Walter Payton Award, which goes to the top offensive player in FCS. @RhodyFootball receiver and @ClassicalHSPVD alum is a preseason All-American selection. @pvdschools #URI.

Students dove into the world of soldering, gaining hands-on experience with electronics while sharpening their problem-solving skills. As part of the PPSD @seaperch summer program, they're also building underwater robots that they'll put to the test in a competitive challenge!
