You could say this about any director, since all of them have a distinct style, taste, preferred tropes, themes and actors. Which is why they have fans who want to see their movies, for their specific vision.

It's so confusing because they lived here all their lives, the only relation to Iran is through history, and it's not framed positively at all might I add. I can only assume they have persian heritage, as it often is with Georgians obsessed with merging us with another nation
