Support legislation that would require institutions to reach a 75% tenure-track workforce to receive federal funding. Read the MLA statement and contact Senator Patty Murray, chair of the drafting committee, to advocate for this law.

Very cool to see our outstanding book Female Husbands brought into the discourse this thoughtfully.

For @guardian, I wrote about historical trans--and, in particular, non-binary--identities in a new book by @activisthistory, conservatives' terrible arguments about trans people, why it matters how we talk about historical figures, and more:

I've wanted to do a similar piece to this *excellent* WSJ piece on financially & psychologically exploitative Master's programs for some time; I do wish they'd focused on even more programs https://t.co/z87WKGoXHk

We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Lauren Berlant, one of our bestselling authors and a great friend to the Press. A full remembrance will come later this week, in the meantime, this @NewYorker article is a good piece on their work and legacy.

Learning from Lauren Berlant felt like being in the presence of an icon. Constantly brilliant, generous, funny. They reshaped my idea of how thoughtful, free living could be. I know so many people felt deeply for/with them and I join our grief!
