This week I was able to observe 3 of our Primary Promise teachers at Western, Marvin, and 74th Elementary schools. In addition to the ways in which they engage their readers in high leverage instructional routines, I am heartened by their welcoming environments. @LAUSD_LDWest

Today Abi McBean at Mid City’s Prescott engaged her first grade mathematicians in a How many? warm-up and a Join, Change Unknown problem. Giselle shared her hopping on strategy and Kane shared his “If.. then…” statement: if 1+8 = 9, then 11+8 = 19. This is CGI. @LAUSD_LDWest
