i wanted my book "the castration of a minor god" in a pdf version so people around the world could buy it. i believe in this book! & it's only $5! the paperback sold over 600 copies in the u.s. i have amazing blurbs & praise for this book on goodreads.
do the following thing, it's easy!
find three of your best poems that you love. find your bio. attach word file. paste bio in body of email.

ghostcityreview

let me read your poetry 🥰 and possibly publish one of your poems in ghost city review 🥳
i'm the poetry editor of ghost city review. the magazine side to
@GhostCityPress
i want everyone to submit short poems. 10 lines MAX!
i don't get enough little poems.

i hate being alive. i work to pay bills & i'm still behind. we can't afford anything. we live on one meal a day if we are lucky. i go to sleep wondering why i should wake up. i wish i could articulate better the dire situation most people are in. paycheck to paycheck is a dream.
if you get a rejection, don't respond like this. its rude & immature. a rejection doesn't mean you're a bad writer. it means that I get 400 subs a month & I can only accept 20ish. the same goes for lots of magazines. also don't ask how you can improve. write for you & no one else
i get angry that the poetry world has tiers & if you aren't on the top tier people pretend you aren't worth it as poet. why can't we be a community & support one another. just because a poet doesn't have that silver spoon, doesn't mean they're not as good.
yall. recent events & ongoing events have fucked me up but
i got a full length book acceptance today. my fourth forthcoming collection (2 chaps; 2 full). it'll be in the world dec 2026
that's all for now. i love you. you who are reading this. you who fight for a better world!
this is a threaded post. follow the comments:
this is going to be my last post for a while. don't dm me. i'm tired. my mental health is not good. and many other reasons. my light has died. — i have someone else's book to edit, poetry subs to catch up on for ghost city review and
Announcement:
@FlowerSongPress
accepted my manuscript & will be publishing my next full length collection! i'm excited, honored & thrilled. it's titled:
my husband holds my hand because i may drift away & be lost forever in the vortex of a
crowded store: (new & selected poems)
may i jump with glee, my poem "tender community of fabled people" was accepted into the inaugural issue of
@atmosphericlit
and i'm so happy!!! love the editors!
unfortunately, the plagurist john kucera has stolen my poem "mary" which was published in
@OneArtPoetry1
& my latest book.
he published it as "codependency" in the magazine The Fictional Café —
luckily i have messaged the editors & they're working to fix it!
never be afraid to dm for a pdf version of my poetry books if you can't afford them. i'm my own digital library. i'd rather you read my poetry even if you can't afford it — or if you live in a different country. there's no shame in asking! a library is whatever a library may be.
my chapbook "the trees speak in suburbian" was accepted & will be published in the
@GhostCityPress
summer series as a pdf chapbook you will be able to download for FREE!
cover art: Tavo Arrieta
edited: Tommy Sheffield
blurbs: Robert Carr, Tara A. O'Brien Elliott & Lorcán Black
exciting news: my publisher is sending my book to the lambda awards. this will be the first time i have ever had anything sent to where it could win an award!
what mags are no fees and have a decent response time 🥰 I feel like submitting and I know there is a ton of mags on Twitter! (i'm not being rude with the no fee part. i'm just poor)
my goal is to be friends with every living poet. & it makes me sad when i see poets i don't know because i should know them & we should be talking joyously about their poetry & adventures & goals. & we should be celebrating!
anyhow, poets! you're allowed to friend me & dm me.
poetry does not have to be cohesive; they're not a novel. we don't have to fit each poem into a story line. poems are individual beings. let them be their own selves. quit manufacturing poems & just write naturally. quit rearranging poems & let them live how they were written.
exciting publishing news!!!
so honored
@nakedcatlitmag
has accepted my manuscript "our trees speak in suburbian" which has 10 poems and 2 erasure poems for a digital chapbook!!!
🥰🥰🥰
@InternetInsider
kink is an at home thing or a really slutty bar/club. not walking down the street.
I'm gay and married to my husband. we fight daily to be taken seriously. people in dog suits and 90% naked make that really hard.
so very excited! my micro-chap 'our trees speak in suburbian" is coming to you soon from
@GhostCityPress
summer series! for free! 10 poems and 2 erasure poems.
(look at all the names included!)
with the whole PhD discord:
i don't have an mfa, or a PhD & i don't have a college degree.
i'm a poet. period. not interested in the capitalistic paperwork. not interested in trying to make someone happy enough to accept me into a place that will try to change me & charge me.
it is my birthday today, i am 37 🥳: if you'd like to do something nice—buy my book or share it or write rate my books you've read on goodreads!

share share share. spread the love of the poems from these spectacular poets!
The May 2024 issue of Ghost City Review is now up on our website! Thank you so much to all of our wonderful contributors this month. Thanks to Ulyses Razo for the awesome banner image. And thanks to
@poetjohncompton
for the editorial labor of love.
Mary Oliver has enough poems to build a thrown but she built her career from the ground up & used her platform for good
instead of 50 pubs a year, try for 100
pub a book every month. believe in yourself & others will also
celebrating others is funner than bitching
a third magazine with my poem "mary" (he has plagurized it under the title "codependency") from john kucera has been found. this time with
@MusePiePress
not their fault of course. i have emailed them and made a comment notifying them.
when will this hell end?! it is tiring.
i sold 40+ copies of
blacked out borderland from an exponential crisis
at awp!
published by
@the_ethelzine
& remember. all presses are equally great. indie or "glamorous" — little or better known. they're all publishing great poems & great poets. read some poems, buy the book
i've been writing "not poetry" stuff lately & so far i have:
one nonfiction essay piece written & accepted—coming out march 6th
and two micro fiction pieces finished—one submitted.
working on a 3d micro fiction.
it's a very terrifying & exciting venture.
people are allowed to critique poetry & criticism doesn't always equal praise.
people are allowed to not like other's writing.
the only thing is that if you don't like something & you write about it, make a statement, break down your thoughts—do not write a rambling hate speech.
@alanasaltz
and I love how when people get vaxxed they think they are now invincible. you can still catch and spread covid. I know a ton of people who are vaxxed and then caught covid.
"melancholy arcadia" is still

. dreams! thank you everyone!

any publishers open that don't charge sub fees for full length and chapbooks of poetry?
have a list of poets needing to submit some poetry manuscripts!
below the 1% that you think are gods and goddesses. get over yourself. share books and share poets beyond the big poets. most are rude and narcissistic anyhow and could care less about you.
thank you everyone!!!
#1
new poetry book &
#3
overall!
i am so joyous & happy. thank you for believing in me! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
thank you to the ones who bought it already & the ones who want to. thank you for everyone sharing!
if you still wanna buy a copy:
are y'all ready for my chapbook "melancholy arcadia" with
@harbor_review
?
dropping in may and will be around $12!
which means you have 3 months to save your money so you can purchase it!
also i have been blessed with some incredible blurbs that i am most excited to share!
why do poets assume their poem is bad if they get rejected? firstly, you should always write for yourself. secondly, even if the editor did not like your poem — it's their opinion. theirs. don't change your whole poem cause a rejection. there's 100 reasons one gets a rejection.
you can now preorder "the castration of a minor god" from
@GhostCityPress
at the link below:
NOTE: All orders come with a FREE echapbook, "the skies fell revelations." You’ll receive an email with the echapbook within 24-36 hours of purchase.
food for thought: if a magazine accepts your poem, don't email them constantly asking if they forgot about your poem. sometimes there are backlogs or sometimes the issue takes months to come out. we don't accept poems to forget about them (unless the mag goes defunct)
ghost city review updates: i took all day yesterday & read all of feb subs. i'm on march 1st subs. i sent out rejections. once the march issue comes out i'll sent out acceptances!
also! i've received over 100 subs so far for the little poems! thank you!
@GhostCityPress
meeting
@TaylorByas3
and them knowing who i was, was a pretty cool experience. (yes, i'm still learning my name is known lol)
we hugged and talked a bit and they are so kind and sweet.
june is my anniversary month for being the poetry editor of ghost city review
2 magnificent years and counting!
everyday is such a thrill to get to read a plethora of poetry!
@GhostCityPress
my books are haunted houses & each page is a different suspense or surprise, full of spider webs & maybe a mouse.
the first poem chooses itself, as does the last poem. i am wild. i don't organize. i write my poems as they lay in the book. the only thing i do is remove bad poems.
how can one be a tortured poet & also a billionaire?
how can one just take the role as the director of the tortured poet department without a meeting with actual poets?
i need people to buy my book like they'll buy taylor's new album.
i am actually a tortured poet.
1 of 2) be enthused & do not apologize for sharing your happiness & joy. an acceptance, a new publication of a poem or book, a blurb you've gotten, a review or anything! it is 2024. quit deflecting & holding joy for yourself. the world needs your happy light to shine on us.
did everyone in the Twitter world get an acceptance from
@gutslutpress
? all I see in every other tweet is how everyone got accepted.
who got rejected. we need rejections to fly high and have a moment of joy.
thank you
