I cannot breathe through my nose & mouth because of my tracheotomy & ventilator so wearing a mask is not effective My vent doesn’t have a filter that’s like an N95 so I depend on others around me to keep me & themselves safe That’s community care. That’s how it *should* work

Um, hey @britishmuseum, it's come to my attention that your exhibit "China's hidden century" uses my translations of Qiu Jin's poetry, but you never contacted me for permission. Please note this is a copyright infringement! How are you going to fix this?? #NameTheTranslator

Anyone who doesn't get it yet: - the Black neighborhoods around this will flood truly so much more with every tree that is killed - the surrounding river already has so much sediment in it, it is in breach of the Clean Water Act - they killed a protester to do this #StopCopCity

"Since [2017], 45 states have considered new anti-protest laws, with 39 state and federal laws passed that attempt to weaken First Amendment rights. Many of these laws haven’t been used for convictions, but for spreading fear and chilling free speech."
"Before the recent changes to the law, Georgia required 10+ people to be killed for terrorism charges to be filed. In the wave of anti-protest laws, the state removed any death threshold and essentially replaced it with references to property damage." https://t.co/pO85rZ7d1u

Thinking about a colleague who was interviewing ebola survivors, months to years after they were discharged ‘ebola-free’. He found lots of people who said they’d never quite recovered. But their symptoms were fatigue, anxiety, sadness—none of which compelled diagnosis + treatment

Hybrid immunity is not some kind of magic PH fix. It is an abject surrender to the virus which is not likely to end in peace. We still have to do the work of fighting this virus- there are many levers at our disposal that we have not yet fully begun to use. (to be contd) (25)

Scale of the protest tonight in Shanghai. Notice police didn’t do anything but standing calmly watching ppl protest and shouting. It’s not benevolence. My guess: they need to ask for directives from the top authorities. Police might be stunned as nobody dares doing so for decades

fucked up that history professors are allowed to call 1789-1914 “the long 19th century” and yet somehow my paper is “late” because they wont accept 5 am as part of “long yesterday”
