Arrhythmogenic left ventricular cardiomyopathy is a fibrotic disease in which subepicardial LGE is the major phenotypic trait We just published the ALVC layer-specific strain echo phenotype in @ASE360 Thank you to all team @institut_thorax

Thanks for sharing @CircImaging ! Let’s continue the work on imaging characterization and mechanisms of myocardial inflammation in arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy! @AmmiratiEnrico @FCardiogen @institut_thorax @DonalErwan @cshenoy3
FDG uptake can occur due to myocardial inflammation in arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy; here's a study of 17 such patients. https://t.co/JwHwCQCsGd

All eyes on Israel this week as we hope to see the effects of broad vaccination of 60+ population for the first time.
Israel: 1.8 million vaccinated (~21% pop.) ~72% of all 60+ years old ~80% of all 70+ years old This week we expect to see the effect of the vaccines, by a drop in the relative number of 60+ years old out of the critically ill patients. Our projection is the blue dashed line

(6/6) Cardiac imaging community should remain aware of and look for differential diagnoses of viral myocarditis even during COVID-19 pandemic. Have a look to our work, just published 😉 ! https://t.co/USChx8Dji3

Aims Several data suggest that acute myocarditis could be related to genetic variants involved in familial cardiomyopathies, particularly arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, but the management of patien...

(5/6) Differential diagnosis of viral myocarditis must not be neglected. Rather than concluding that COVID-19 may be revealed by myocarditis without full imaging data, I think at least as important to evoke the possibility that it could reveal unknown pre-existing cardiac disease

(4/6) Important differential diagnoses of viral myocarditis have to be taken into account in this young patient who exhibits mild symptoms of COVID-19. LGE pictures are at least as typical of genetic arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy in "hot phase" that acute myocarditis

(3/6) They do not give any information on T2 imaging, although 2018 Lake Louise criteria to support a diagnosis of acute myocarditis are based on the combination of evidence of non-ischemic myocardial injury by LGE or T1 mapping and of myocardial edema using T2

(2/6) Authors only give LGE pictures that they assume “typical of acute myocarditis”. In the absence of EMB, a diagnosis of acute myocarditis associated with #COVID_19 should at least be made with respect with full CMR diagnostic criteria for myocardial inflammation.
