The UK is leading the charge on modernisation, with a strategic review of the military 🚀🇬🇧 @DefenceHQ . Europe needs to follow its lead and embrace new technologies. Procurement strategies must align consistently.

Other points to note (shoutout @SchimpfBrian CEO cofounder @anduriltech) for highlighting these:. 1/ Europe is coming from a lower starting point. Therefore the region will exceed US new equipment procurement by multiples in the coming period = a huge opportunity to shift their.

HOWEVER, this week's landmark deal does represent several important tailwinds for national security sectors, especially for 'trusted capital' across the US and its allies that can help companies positioned to benefit from scaled procurement targets - local and international 🎯

tldr = In my view defence primes still tend to monopolistic outcomes. Put another way: it's unlikely we will see multiple large players emerge to challenge leaders like @anduriltech, be it in the US or European markets.

To quote a former UK defence minister: "Trump has accomplished what no other leader has managed before.". - The US has long pushed for increased spending across its NATO allies (w the US covering around 2/3 of prior spend) but never succeeded. This marks a landmark deal. -
