Been noticing the growing interest in alternatives to transformers recently again since gpt5 launch.
Unlike an RNN, one attention block alone cannot model anything interesting. And itโs the stacking of it that does wonders. Understanding this compositionality should be at least as important as understanding the attn module itself.

We all have our weaknesses .We all can be manipulated. (Watch Derren Brown if you want safe examples). Previously you had to be (un)lucky to be hit by it. And some folks have more vulnerability then others. With AI, you will be hit by it eventually. Unless we guard ourselves.
[9/12] The uncomfortable truth is weโre all vulnerable. The same traits that make you brilliant:. โข pattern recognition.โข abstract thinking.โข intuition. They live right next to an evolutionary cliff edge. Most benefit from these traits. But a few get pushed over.

Common issue with the comments. Is how binary it is, while reality isnโt. - yes some of the folks would have induced psychosis without AI.- some would have been OK without AI. The question is not if AI is at fault in all this cases, is does it increase psychosis as a trend (yes).
Iโm a psychiatrist. In 2025, Iโve seen 12 people hospitalized after losing touch with reality because of AI. Online, Iโm seeing the same pattern. Hereโs what โAI psychosisโ looks like, and why itโs spreading fast: ๐งต

One of the big benefits of using open models.Via @FeatherlessAI or @huggingface . They ainโt going anywhere once downloaded.

For me its lowering switching cost on jumping between code bases. Yes AI has all the problems you outlined. But I can take that see it. Discard it. And do a more specific prompt or write the change. Instead of whole day loading the codebase I wrote 2 months ago in human context.
How has AI coding led to productivity gains? How should we think about code hygiene? Do we still need to review code? Or is it okay to just update code solely via an LLM mediator?. Context: I've been writing and reviewing a lot of (Python) code. AI code has a distinct smell. It's.
