The old adage holds true here. If you value it, support it. But what are you supporting? Well last week, @WYEP had “Hanks-Giving,” where Mr. Hanks himself chose 100 songs for a station takeover.

Good morning everyone! If you’re tuning into @WYEP today, you’ll hear some amazing music (as usual) and the fund drive. When you support @WYEP, you’re supporting local, independent music and members of our unit.

Wow y’all, what a day! We are so proud of our colleagues and the work that’s been put in. But while we are celebrating, our media colleagues at the Post-Gazette are still striking. If you’re able, you can donate to the strike fund to support these workers:

It’s official: the reporters, editors, hosts, djs and other content creators at @905wesa and @WYEP voted overwhelmingly to unionize with @SAGAFTRA. Members voted 26-1 in favor of the union — a nearly unanimous decision!.

After months of waiting, the NLRB will count our votes tomorrow! We’ve worked tirelessly to get to this point, but we know this is only the beginning. We’ll keep you updated tomorrow with the results. ✨ Manifesting this energy ✨

We finally got the dates for our election! Our @905wesa and @WYEP members will be receiving ballots starting next week. While we would have preferred our upper management voluntarily recognize us, we know we're going to win this election. Next stop, victory party!.

Public radio’s heart is accessible, balanced news and information. Giving you the latest while also broadening your horizons. @WESAconfluence does this for listeners. @KevinOGavinPgh , @LauraTsutsui and @marylee_will make this heart beat everyday with tireless work.

Through the pandemic, @Sarah_Boden provided thoughtful coverage to help listeners navigate a scary news landscape with so many unknowns. She was dogged in her reporting and did it with such care. Also, still had time for delight!
