Happy Emilia Pérez release day! (I’m kidding it’s a very bad movie that’s quickly becoming my awards season villain):

Jacques Audiard's musical is messy and insensitive, and giving it a bunch of awards will not age well. (Consider I Saw The TV Glow and The People’s Joker instead!)

No one had heard of her (because she does not exist, to my knowledge) but tried to gaslight everyone by saying I was doing one of those gay Halloween memes and only gay people know about this scandal and sorry you’re not gay.

Went to the office dressed like this today and told everyone I was that iconic old woman who became infamous because of how aggressively she stalked Burt Reynolds in the 1980s and 90s. He’d find her in his Evening Shade dressing room and she’d always be wearing this shirt!

I think the lesson to learn from Gary Indiana is that you have to know what you love before you can hate everything else. Most people try to do it the other way around

We at the Review mourn the loss of Gary Indiana (1950–2024). In celebration of his life and work, we’ve unlocked his Art of Fiction interview from our archive. https://t.co/g8uhDs8hBG

“I was desperate to write a novel, but I didn’t have a story. Whenever I tried to write fiction it was all about my own inner bullshit.”

RIP to the great Gary Indiana, who wrote many brilliant essays for Film Comment over the years—including this 2004 feature on the films of Pedro Almodóvar, timed to the release of BAD EDUCATION. https://t.co/2aN9Jzjcmp

If the only thing I accomplished in 2024 is obtaining this somehow still available email address the second I walked out of The Substance, that’s enough for me. Also this is the only way you can contact me now

Am going to bring this photo to my doctor and say that I’d like a cocktail of anti depressants that will make me feel like Demi Moore’s dog Pilaf felt after seeing Sunset Blvd please

And go see Vivek and Christopher’s show at @buddiesTO’s Nuit Blanche festivities this weekend:

Buddies and Nuit Blanche have been eyeing each other across the dance floor and finally hooked up—and obviously, the result is sexy.
