30 years ago @perrier_michael scooped up teenage me, made me his organ scholar, then assistant. He taught me about people, and prayer and music. Today as I stood a priest in the chancel at the MU festival, and he played the organ, I gave thanks for his ministry. #SaintsWeWalkWith

2/ The invasion of Czechoslovakia by Russian and Soviet satellite troops in 1968. The first instigated my Czech mother’s flight to India for the duration of WW2. The second trapped her, and me as a teenager in Prague where we were visiting my grandmother for summer holidays.

Please retweet this: @DCMS is ignorant of singing. The restrictions just imposed after thousands of choirs booked rehearsal spaces make a mockery of this hugely beneficial activity. If people can hug, breathe over eachother in pubs & infect waiters in restaurants why no singing?
