Just take a deep breath. and continue laughing. But seriously, while I get it why some people do this, this is completely wrong thing to become attached, addicted, whatever. It's a machine, maintained by someone else who can unplug it whenever they want.

"Now Firefox can help you keep your tabs organized, automatically." This better be a feature that could be turned off. I grew up with slow computers and I still don't leave tabs open for no reason on new fast machines.

This morning started with ~60 km bicycle trip at 8 am. It was sunny but varyingly foggy morning. Then 2½ hours later at the destination, full tractor trailer full of firewood was dumped on the yard so helped to pile them into a shed. Arrived back home few hours ago, avoided rain.

Also had a go if I could have original Napster working with opennap/opennap-ng/SlavaNap, but couldn't figure out how one could point the client to the server, so dropped that idea for now. Just trying to get ancient P2P stuff running on the retro network for younger colleagues.

Got eserver 17.15 ( configured and running on my retro network. Searches work, but zero sources on downloads and they won't start ~ever. Config has an issue, or was eMule this slow back in the day. ? I dunno, I'll see about this on another day.

Few months ago mom asked what's the "your browser will be out of support" on the banking app. Asked to show it, but it was nowhere. She asked about it again while ago, but now someone said Android 9 will be out of support soon. Her XCover 4 or 4s runs. 9? Anyway, time to swap.

Can't remember why I thought about that shortwave station which had a 100 year old grandpa screaming about the end of the world, but apparently he died 3-4 years ago, he was running a cult, and re-runs on shortwave has ended recently.

The Extreme switch sees the phone in LLDP neighbors and as class 3 device. The switch can do "legacy" (Cisco pre-standard) PoE and 802.3af, which are supported by the phone, but still screen brightness is limited to 1/3. I dunno, might look into later, but now not worth fighting.

First of all, LLDP was disabled on both ends. The phone XML config I found had it disabled, and the switch has pretty much everything disabled out of box. Specifically LLDP MED needs to be enabled, and packet captures showed that switchport advertises 15 watt power capability.

So, the Cisco 7970 phone I bought to use at work boots into low-power mode. It means that you can't set display brightness over 1/3 of its scale, which is enough and doesn't really bother, but having it a bit brighter would be nice. But why it boots to low-power mode. .

Taking a Nokia C7 tomorrow to work, just for fun. Stopped using it around 2014, and I thought I had reset it to factory settings, at least home screens were reset to default. But nope: 11-15 year old tweets were still there on Tweetian. Things were so good back then.
