SARS-Cov-2 can mutate to overcome our immune defenses. It cannot mutate to bypass HEPA filters, ventilation, UV/far UV light, and masking.

1. So, where are the threads arguing that almost nobody dies OF cancer? Instead, people die WITH cancer! You can argue it's extremely difficult to die OF cancer if you really determine to minimise it

COVID increases risk of 44 different neuro disorders, including Alzheimer's, 1 year post-infection ⚠️ Totally mild right ?

The lead author of a new study on the neurological impact of COVID-19 infection says that the disease "is not as benign" as people may think.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, @fordnation wants ed workers to strike. That way, classes move online & Covid spread through schools gets a break. Then the gov't can blame ed workers, and eventually educators, for a breakdown in the system, and move in with privatization.

Just heard on @metromorning there were approx 30% more kids than usual seeking emergency care at Sick Kids on Monday. Ongoing staffing issues due to illness & people leaving the sector. What’s the plan @fordnation? #RepealBill124 to retain, recruit, and return healthcare heroes.

Spending least on health care of any province, the Ford government has a surplus! A surplus of people waiting for care, hundreds of frail octogenarians forced into for-profit LTC and an exhausted workforce in exodus. It’s time to push back, hard.

Rising cases of variants BQ.1 and XBB could make COVID drugs all but useless, study finds COVID variants are evolving ways around vaccines and treatments, fueling deadly conditions for a winter surge ⚠️ So, let’s do nothing right ?

If you’re all of a sudden having weird symptoms: extreme fatigue, numbness/pain, chest pain, acid reflux, irritable bowel, shortness of breath, dizziness, changes in senses, onset of diabetes or other autoimmune diseases, & you previously had COVID… you’ve now entered Long COVID

How to manufacture consent: 1️⃣ Hide the data about high COVID transmission 2️⃣ Remove signs stating mask requirements in public spaces 3️⃣ Claim "the public is tired" even though polls show most people are willing to mask, if asked 4️⃣ Remove the mask mandate based on false claims

The realities of covid are horribly inconvenient. I think this is why so many people are choosing to ignore it and pretend it isn't happening. Sadly that won't make those realities go away.

Why should the federal government trust provinces like Ontario when they pull shit like this? The Ford government is unfit.

INVESTIGATION: Ontario pledged to help Ottawa build a public $10/day #childcare system. Then the Ford gov't made concessions to for-profit daycares that pleased businesses & sparked a political standoff. This is how it happened. With @BKennedyStar https://t.co/pAQoShKVlL

No one is calling for lockdowns. I’m tired of the straw-man response from officials. We’re calling for highly effective, low-burden, low-cost measures that prevent covid spread & protect our health system: ✅universal masking ✅testing & surveillance ✅open windows & clean air

Ontario has stripped some checks and balances from its funding rules, which observers say threatens to compromise the ambitious child-care program.

One underreported subset of #LongCovid is covid induced delayed injury. Folk who look recovered, but who then undergo a catastrophic injury: thrombosis, embolism, heart attack, stroke, aneurysm. In our brave new world of mass infection, it's starting to be noticeable at scale.

Do not let anyone convince you that you need to get sick to be healthy. This is very silly. While the day we fully understand the immune system will probably never come, there are a few things we can say for sure about how exposure to microbes impact your immune health...
