Hey. Cheating comes in as a handy skill when you make Documentaries about D&D, Horde old documents in your basement and generally lie about everything in public for a buck. Don't knock it. I guess fudging can prove profitable for some.
@micpewpew It's hard to understand the thinking of people who believe that they have won, when they have cheated. I suppose they do puzzle books by looking at all the answer pages as well. Some consider cheating a skill.

This is what happens when you let the schools raise your kids. There is no case where fudging is acceptable just like it is never okay to find a wallet with cash and just keep it. The advice is and always will remain to not roll if you prefer one outcome or the other.
It's the DM's prerogative to fudge dice, ignore plans, and expedite (or prolong) encounters. A dead party is a party not having fun. Not telling stories. Not engaging in combat. As @NotLikeMonopoly said: "Bits of plastic don't make better decisions than human beings."

I am, as is the rest of the #BROSR, #magnanimous. I offer to lend tips and tricks without the hidden paywall of some pdf I'm peddling. Yet, because of their pride, they don't even inquire to see what I offer. I could be totally wrong, but why not even investigate?
@professor_squid @micpewpew I have seen the game (all editions) improve by applying certain general principles. If you don't want them then our conversation is done. But if you want a glimpse of what can be, DM me. I'm happy to help.
