When people learn what i do for a living, the first question the majority ask me is "why dont new houses come with solar as standard?". So pleased that the answer from now will be "they do". (This is not an exaggeration. I get asked this sooooo much.).
We’re kickstarting a solar rooftop revolution. All new-build houses will come with solar panels as standard. Delivering lower bills, energy security, and tackling the climate crisis.

Lots of misunderstanding in today's papers on the oil and gas industry. But luckily @mcortonscott is here to bust some myths.
Concerning article from the Sun on Sunday today on Rosebank, where the writer and Labour sources quoted clearly don’t quite grasp the economics of the oil and gas industry. maybe this thread can help 👇.

Great analysis here on the future of subsidies for UK biomass. Workers need to be at the forefront of our energy transition and they ". should not be used as a bargaining chip by the company to continue operating a model that fails UK citizens.".
The UK imports millions of tonnes of wood from overseas to burn for electricity each year. Since 2012 it has cost UK billpayers billions to subsidise this. Ahead of a gov decision on whether to extend subsidies, I write on the political risks of subsidising biomass for Labour.

Another great example of common sense planning reforms that will speed up our vital energy infrastructure roll-out and boost investment.
DEMAND BOOST:. Scrapping the 1m rule. Like lifting the onshore wind ban back in July, Labour is breaking down barriers to growth by removing the rule that states you can't fit an air source heat pump within 1m of someone else's property boundary without planning permission.
