See a ‘Sports Parent’ sitting alone? There is a reason. - No drama. - No negativity. - No ignorance. - No complaining. - No badmouthing coaches or refs. They just want to enjoy watching their child play.

Like all of you, I am utterly stunned and heartbroken and sick to my soul today. It is unimaginable to write these words. I met Charlie Kirk when he was 18 years old, a young man so eager and determined that I immediately turned to a friend and said, “That kid is going to be the

The 8 Realities of a HS Coach 1. It will consume you 2. There will be critics 3. You are not in it for the $ 4. There is no overnight success 5. You need a supportive spouse 6. You will not make everyone happy 7. You can’t want it more than the kids 8. It is still WORTH it!

Coaching isn’t a hobby. Coaching is a mission. Somewhere in the world, a parent’s praying for someone to show up for their kid. Not just to teach the game, but to lead, to push, to believe in them when it’s hard. Be that coach. The one who shows up, builds up, and never gives up.

Good luck to @RyanDivish and the @HavreNorthstars this year! As someone who was coached by Ryan in Legion ball I know two things 1Those kids will learn tons about the game and be much better players and people 2 They will be very sore after every practice
Far from breaking news, but a bit of personal news that the Times wanted me to share before Thursday.

Jeanann and Jay Lemelin didn’t see it coming. And how could they? “I’m just like, ‘Is this really happening?’” Jay recalled.

I like this, but you need to understand that high school officials HATE the kneepad rule. NFHS continues to make it a point of emphasis and we just try to do our job. Please petition to @NFHS_Org for a rule change and don’t blame high school officials
High school football should adopt knee pad rules in the same way as college and pro football rules. They do nothing. You can’t change my mind. But high school refs will be bored because they love picking on players for wearing knee pads that are too high.

Congrats to my guy Terek Shipp on earning All State honors for 2024 as a pitcher! Terek left his mark on the program by being the most fierce competitor on the field every game! It was an honor to coach him!
