For the past five years, the antitrust movement has been focused on Facebook more than other companies. But recently, we've learned that the true dominant monopoly in the tech ecosystem is Apple. https://t.co/ji7sI1siqo

The Apple TV+ alternate history series is simply more ambitious and thought-provoking than its contemporaries.

TikTok doesn’t just see its users dance videos. It collects search and browsing histories, keystroke patterns, biometric identifiers, draft messages and metadata, plus it has collected the text, images, and videos that are stored on a device's clipboard.

It's amazing to me that after all this time, almost all media coverage of Telegram still refers to it as an "encrypted messenger." Telegram has a lot of compelling features, but in terms of privacy and data collection, there is no worse choice. Here's how it actually works: 1/

2021 was the year of VR, and I have one stat to show you why: This year, Oculus has sold more headsets than Microsoft did Xboxs. This marks the beginning of ARVR's predominance. A thread on ARVRs growth, use-cases, and future below:

It is absolutely critical to fight Apple's attempt to surveil one billion people in the name of a higher cause.
Apple's new end-user handset scanning is likely the most powerful tool for surveillance authoritarianism ever conceived by humans. The most we can do for our children is to not go down this road. https://t.co/pJwuod3SPT

Apple is replacing end-to-end encryption with end-to-end surveillance. From dawn to dusk, every waking moment, your phone is watching you.
Now is the moment to define the course of human history: ubiquitous surveillance state or privacy as a digital right. Everyone should be fighting against this inflection. As customers we must demand more from Apple.

I've tried hard to see this from Apple's point of view. But inescapably, this is government spyware installed by Apple based on a presumption of guilt. Though Apple wrote the code, its function is to scan personal data and report it to government. https://t.co/OrkfOSjvS1

From banning harmless cookies for personalized ads to scanning people’s photo libraries. And conspiring with the CCP.
Apple's ads about their commitment to privacy already had a big asterisk. https://t.co/aMdcX7CJ9V

I read the information Apple put out yesterday and I'm concerned. I think this is the wrong approach and a setback for people's privacy all over the world. People have asked if we'll adopt this system for WhatsApp. The answer is no.

Apple built the world’s most valuable business on top of China. Now it has to answer to the Chinese government.

In my experience the best founders develop a fighter mentality. Mark Zuckerberg was a fighter, and without that mentality Facebook would never have achieved its full potential. Here’s what I saw over 13 years working for Zuck:

India has so far donated 66M covid vaccines to over 95 countries. What the US chooses to do in holding back vaccines that, from what I hear, are over-stocked by 30-40M, will be a defining moment for Biden's legacy. The East remembers. https://t.co/qqAIo8C9iy
