I would instead expect the folks at Waymo to leverage Gemini skillset, showcase how non-driving (internet) data transfers cleanly to handle long tails in driving and hence offset Tesla's fleet advantage. That's how BotCo is building autonomous robots to deploy them at scale.

A bit odd that it took them so long to showcase something on this if they wanted to. It took us a month at Tesla after ChatGPT launch to shift focus and prove this out. Imagine being a leader at Waymo, publishing this and saying - Cool cool, Tesla doesn't have the fleet.

Incredible group. Twitter transition was an extremely chaotic period, having to make some hard decisions that kept paying dividends later on. Hoping to see the same with changes in federal agencies and regulations, it might seem chaotic at the beginning, but the upside can be.
It was fun to work with @sriramk on the X/Twitter Transition and I look forward to doing it again, collaborating on A.I. policy. Sriram is a well-known and well-liked figure in Silicon Valley, a sign of the extraordinary talent President Trump is attracting to his Administration.

If not obvious already- lidar isn’t going to solve visual scene understanding for you. You have to solve visual understanding at its core regardless. Same is true for anyone in robotics relying so heavily on depth sensors, and overhyped expensive hardware. Focus on solving.
