If this guy could somehow truly understood that silicon valley companies are choked by bureaucracy and not a lack of "qualified workers" he'd cry.
People don’t seem to understand the scope of the problem. There are many, many available jobs in Silicon Valley but there aren’t enough qualified American workers to fill them. Limiting high skilled legal immigration for the sake of it isn’t going to help anyone.

If you make a competing platform to Twitter, and start poaching users from Elon, do remember to tell him the "fixed pie" is a fallacy.
The “fixed pie” fallacy is at the heart of much wrong-headed economic thinking. There is essentially infinite potential for job and company creation. Think of all the things that didn’t exist 20 or 30 years ago!

This is terrible advice. You aren't going to stand out from 50,000 new CS grads with your project, no matter how "cool" it is. Maybe in 2010 this worked, but credentialism has been increasing exponentially since then. Those days are gone.

A genius sees multiple people saying something and thinks "hmm there is possibly he some truth there" A retard sees multiple people saying something and thinks "it's okay, I already decided what my opinion is on that issue"
This is a skill issue FYI. If you are hardworking, smart, and motivated getting by a job is easy. Even as a white male with a CS degree. (I’m a white male with a CS degree) Just build stuff and show people

I wanted to be a rocket scientist. But the 2007-08 Global Financial Crash crushed my dreams. Elon is clearly curious, but he isn't asking the right questions.
@Cernovich Far too many talented Americans go into law & finance

You can't make this shit up. Guy says we need more engineers, gets retweeted by Elon, but then admits that he can't find a job. Wonder why? Maybe we don't need more engineers, we need to pay people enough that "social media influencer" isn't a higher paying job? Like duh?
@Low_Key_Low_Key The honest truth is that I entered the job market during Obama’s presidency. I lined up a job a ULA that was cancelled before I even graduated. The opportunities dried up to work on manned space programs, and I pursued another path, which has honestly worked out well for me.

I actually need Elon to address this in the next 48 hours or he's just a WEF stooge.

Easy to make engineers "super motivated" if they are always in peril of being deported. A US engineer can usually move back in with their parents or work at mcdonald's if they can't find a job, which is a lot less traumatic than moving countries. Elon won't address this...
@MarioNawfal No, we need more like double that number yesterday! The number of people who are super talented engineers AND super motivated in the USA is far too low. Think of this like a pro sports team: if you want your TEAM to win the championship, you need to recruit top talent wherever

This applies to India, too.
Anti Chinese sentiment (muh CCP) is pure cope. America lost its industrial base long ago, the Chinese are often better engineers and better designers, more practical and more efficient Instead of being mad about the Chinese boogeyman, why don't you build something real?

Elon should be replaced by someone with better math scores. #replaceelon

It's clear that Elon sees the planet as one big factory for him to harness to build his Mars utopia. But he doesn't understand human nature. Not everyone wants to slave away in the lithium mines because they couldn't hack it as a Tesla engineer. They WILL find other options.

It's rare for Christmas and Hanukkah to start on the same day. It has happened only five times since 1900. In this beautiful, unique moment, let us celebrate the unity of Jews and Christians. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.❤️

how about some REAL ideas: 1) Companies shall be taxed for every H1-B they hire an amount that offsets their benefit from the social coercion these employees are under. 2) Require companies to pay large severance packages when laying off H1-B workers, declining after 5 years.

When I started my career at Deloitte, there were eight people hired in my practice. The Chinese manager hired Chinese. The Indian manager hired Indians. And the Korean hired a Korean intern girl. Ethnic nepotism that changed Virginia's culture.

If you suddenly tell them "Make a video streaming platform" they will first need to break free from their self-induced programming and summon their creative forces. But that takes time. And results need to be immediate. So they happen only rarely. (But they do happen)

Most Indian software developers are destined to work for TCS/HCL/Wipro or straight to the US to work for Accenture/Microsoft/IBM. So understandably, they prepare their skills and mindset accordingly.
The 3 southern provinces of India produce 24 times more technical talent than everywhere else on Earth, so they should be paradisiacal, veritable Shangri-Las of innovation that vastly outstrip the rest of mankind.
