Novel theory not backed up by any data. School district enrollment is unchanged in 2023 over 2022 while brick and mortar charters lost 2.2% of their students. Maybe home schoolers left charters?.
Homeschooling is blowing all away. 20% increase in PA, 30% increase national.Considering PA lost tens of 1000s of residents in the past year & choice families tend to be more versatile, it wouldn't suprise if those Ss moved to homeschool or another state outright. Articles in 1/2.

Even more at risk of closing? Cyber charters have stockpiled a quarter billion dollars -- up over 1000% in just 3 years. That cushion is too big - stop overpaying cybers.
It's a sad day for PA cyber charter students - knowing that their schools are even more at risk of closing, as is the education they depend on. They've already left traditional ed due to lack of appropriate services, unsafe environments, bullying, etc. And the harm continues.

@pa_charter As I've said before - Your math is wrong - by a lot. I really don't understand why orgs persist in framing information in a way that harms (or has the potential to harm) kids - unless the focus really isn't kids but rather pure district protectionism.

Agree, more needs to be done to ensure student success in both charter and district-run schools. Charter were supposed to do better for these students but have not lived up to their promise.
