We also use this to document inequities in CV research globally and within the continent. In addition to celebrating African authors that were able to contribute to high impact works in the field ❤️. We still have lots of work to build CV capacity in Africa but we are hopeful

We propose a bottom-up approach that starts with a collection of African Computer Vision publications then use LLMs parsing abstracts to identify datasets. The goal is to identify a taxonomy of the tasks and applications our community is working on.
