UK friends - please consider writing/rewriting to your MP to pressure the government to send 1.4 million AstraZeneca vaccines to Nepal asap so that vulnerable people there can get their second dose next week. @amnesty is calling for the exact same thing. Health is a human rightβ

Newa is not one caste group - it's highly stratified along caste groups, dictating who marries whom, shares food/drinks, attends religious ceremonies/last rites, even who cuts whose nails. Unfortunately, we don't hear much about it because most Newa narratives are upper caste.
