A warm and somewhat pre-emptive welcome to The Fax Club Experiment @campbellclaret and @RoryStewartUK. I’m hoping to hand over this copy of our book to Alastair this morning at @BlueEarthSummit. Please excuse my hand writing - this is the first time I’ve dedicated a book!

Very sad to read. Loved the feel of this old fishing village when I visited in late 2000s and surfed the beautiful wave off the harbour wall.
Bulldozers are currently rolling through the Moroccan surf town of Imsouane, with surf schools, retreats, businesses and locals all being displaced at a moment’s notice. Full story, here; https://t.co/qEUHjmknTv

A truly damaging debt spiral. “Earning money as quickly as possible in order to pay back the creditors is therefore priority number one. It means there is no more room for patience and such pesky things like sustainability or climate justice.” https://t.co/mWUXC00rid

8) An Inconvenient Truth (2006) - perhaps the first climate focused documentary that made us stand up and take note. Narrated by Al Gore, it tells the story of human generated emissions and their effect on the climate. Somewhat shocking at the time, it has proven to be accurate.

7) Seaspiracy (2021) - a shockingly revealing documentary on the over-fishing of our oceans. It delves into and questions the certification agencies which we rely upon when making purchasing decisions. Will have you questioning the provenance of the fish you consume.

6) My Octopus Teacher (2020) - how sentient are the creatures with which we share this planet? This is a beautiful story that focuses on the relationship between Craig Foster and an octopus that he swims with daily. Stunningly filmed and deeply moving.

5) Kiss the Ground (2020) - narrated by Woody Harrelson, a deep dive into the destructive effects of modern farming practices on the health of our soil. It explores the stories of pioneering practitioners who are demonstrating a better way to farm through regenerative practices.

4) The Art of Activism (2022) - a fisherman in Tuscany becomes increasingly concerned about the damaging impacts of bottom trawling in the area. Paulo Fanciulli throws all of his being into stopping this practice, with limited success. Until he meets a marble mine owner.

3) The Biggest Little Farm (2018) - a newly married couple and their dog look to build a life in harmony with nature by regenerating an old drought ridden farm in California. Beautiful story that exhibits the power of nature to recover and thrive when the ingredients are right.

2) Watson (2019) - one man's quest to save whales on the high seas. A thrilling account of Paul Watson's determination to act and physically put himself in the way of whaling fleets. This is the story of Sea Shepherd and its power to inspire activism in the oceans and beyond.

1) Eating Our Way to Extinction (2021) - narrated by Kate Winslet, questions the sustainability of food production on our land and in our seas. If there was ever a documentary which truly uncovers the implications of the quantity of meat and fish we eat, this is surely it.

You don’t have to be fluent in French to understand the nature of this upcoming weather event. Expect to see similar images to those seen in Zaragoza recently. Frightening impacts of the pollution blanket we’ve created starting to be felt by all. @pangeaimpact

I challenge all MPs to read Hannah's book "Fledgling" this weekend and not feel a strong urge to back this part of the bill. @AnthonyMangnal1 would be great if you could support.
“This is such a simple step for government to take, costing virtually nothing but giving a meaningful boost to struggling species. I urge [the secretary for levelling up, housing and communities] Michael Gove to take it.” - @ZacGoldsmith #TheFeatherSpeech
