I’m done with Twitter/X suppressing my posts. I’m glad I made it through to seeing the Tories out. It was fun on here when it was fun. But I’m signing out for good, shortly (deleting 2FA so I won’t be able to login even if I want to). Good luck everyone! 🙌🤗

Arrived back in Spain and can’t tell you how happy I am about the far-right’s failure in France and the fact the UK has adults in charge again. Things are looking up for Europe 🙌

Keir Starmer’s new cabinet marks a historic moment in British politics, with a record number of state-educated Ministers & the lowest proportion of privately educated Ministers since 1945🌹

I’ve been here since 2016. 8 years of Brexit, Covid, the 💩 gov’t ever and the traumatic loss of my dad💔 I’m feeling v emotional and quite overwhelmed. That speech was pitch perfect. And now a team of grown ups? Oh. My. God. The relief.

The UK looks a damn sight better than it did two days ago. So beautifully colourful! Diversity and inclusion ✌️

All the wealthy middle & upper class boomers lamenting the new Labour gov, terrified of having to pay a bit more for decent public services, and threatening to leave the UK. Pathetic, selfish, cry babies. The UK is crap right now because of you and better off without you!

@notesfromspain It is a tall order, & will take time - it will also take the nation to do its part. We can't just sit back & expect Labour to do all the heavy lifting. Re-building includes our cooperation; our civility; intelligence & compassion. We must all step up with a shared purpose.

@notesfromspain So much to do. I dread the media paying too much attention to reform or Labour indulging in the prejudices of their voters. They need to bring about some clear changes in people’s everyday lives domestically and stop allowing the voters and press to obsess over immigration.

When the bar has been set so low for so long, it’s almost giddying to have credible, experienced, serious people in cabinet and to be spoken to with respect and understanding. Clearly, that’s the least we deserve. Right now it feels transformational.

Using "woke" as a pejorative term is the style of the right-wing, the reactionary and the mentally lazy. Which of those are you, sunshine?

Heavily contested, this title. But this may be my favourite ever Telegraph headline.

Steve Bray says we need to rejoin the Single Market, no Referendum just do it. RT if you agree.

‘Bashing’ Labour now is bashing the country. These are exceptional times and anyone who wants Labour to fail wants the country to fail. Johnson exposes himself yet again as having not a single patriotic bone in his wobbly body.

@notesfromspain I was anxious yesterday; today I just feel as though they’re able to walk away without a backward glance, leaving the tatters of a country behind them. I feel so sad they won’t have to answer for what they’ve done.

@notesfromspain Massive job Billy and you can't forget that 4 million voted Reform. The UK now has a far right, racist, nascent fascist party with a told hold in parliament. One that will feed off the Tories and any disappointed Labour voters
