Tax authorities have revoked our non-profit status, claiming journalism does not serve any public purpose and therefore cannot be carried out as a non-profit exercise. It severely impairs our ability to do journalism. Our statement:

This is terrible and very unprofessional.
In 12+ yrs of journalism, never seen this: Joined on Aug 21, next day was asked for an “experience certificate” or offer would be withdrawn. Submitted it, yet they withdrew the offer on Aug 27. The job hunt begins again.
