In this article for @OGAgrowers @niels_corfield raises some key challenges in transitioning to #notill horticulture; forming a tilth for sowing/speedy planting, weed control, the issue of reducing land under cultivation & making high labour operations pay.

Article from @niels_corfield @OGAgrowers The key to keeping ahead of weeds and maintaining living root is being able to transplant directly into a newly cleared bed or between a standing crop and to be plant close for additional weed-suppression.

Looking forward to doing more efficacy demonstration work at Bank this coming year And being part of Bank's ongoing development
A day with @niels_corfield talking soil health. Some encouraging infiltration results following a pass with an Aerworx roller last autumn. Worm channels, taking OM down into to the soil profile & plenty of worm cysts (eggs) #soilhealth #rootsnotiron #carbonfarming #netzero

Another great day looking at arable soils And how we can learn about the root causes of issues that affect the farming calendar (pun intended) Fixing soil WILL improve the bottomline (though not necessarily going to yield) Those wet winters are no sweat, with healthy soil
Always challenged and inspired after a @niels_corfield visit to @ShimplingPark (he’s always so involved so I only got a picture of his bum) The hedge bottom/field test is always a leveler. So much to do #FixingSoils 🙏 Thank you Niels
