This is Officer Robert McKeithen, a 24-year veteran of the Biloxi Police Department. He was set to retire at the end of the year. Officer McKeithen was shot and killed last night. He leaves behind a wife, a daughter, 2 stepsons and a stepdaughter.

Today marks the beginning of an extremely difficult time for my family.
The last time I spoke to my Dad was Thanksgiving Day ‘01. He died 3 days later. The last time I saw & spoke to my Mom was Christmas Day ‘01. She died 3 days later.

The last time I spoke to my dad was on Thanksgiving Day 2001. He was killed three days later on November 25th, 2001. One month later, on Christmas Day 2001, my mom spoke her last words to me, “Merry Christmas, baby. I love you.” She died three days later, on December 28th, 2001.
