So proud of this preprint! @HedgerResearch has analysed over 700 hours of 7T fMRI data from HCP (retinotopy, movie, rest) and NSD to discover a sequence of novel, vicariously activated somatotopic maps tiling visual cortex.
🧵New preprint with @cvnlab, @tnaselar & @tknapen: How does the brain connect vision and touch representations to infuse vision with body-related meaning? TLDR: We found high-level visual cortex is tiled with maps 'multiplexing' vision and touch. https://t.co/DqSwHMQkjc 1/n

I'm teaching a coding class this semester, and reluctantly realizing that I need to teach the students about AI coding assistants or I am doing them a disservice. I've only dabbled with ChatGPT a bit. Recs? Are any other options particularly good for explaining code to beginners?

Delighted to see this in press after a long road to publication, a great project led by @GhaffarSamy
I am very excited that our study using Voxelwise Modeling to explore how the brain represents emotional natural scenes is out in Nature Communications.

I'm soon going to be looking for a senior postdoc to join my lab who is interested in transitioning to independence and in building their own group, with a strong background in vision science, cognitive computational neuroscience or visual neuroscience. Please RT 1/3

Clear, succinct, import, and with a generalizable lesson for other domains:
This article argues in part that racism and sexism are essentially non-existent because their effects on stuff like income disappear if you control for all relevant variables like education, work history and so on. This is a common argument so let me explain why it's wrong. 👇

Neat!
Faces elicit a particular pattern of eye movements from humans and monkeys. Here, we examine the role of face-selective cortex in this remarkable behavior. https://t.co/BSfGResbnO I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to work with this team! @RezaAzadi_ @AfrazArash and others
