Reminds me of this article. We will watch in awe as Kobe makes 100k shots in 3 months, but won't push young kids to do as many of the basics until they've got it down.
One thing that concerns me about math education at the primary school level is the idea that every math concept, no matter how trivial, needs to be explored for days on end using countless models and manipulatives in order to provide students with a "deep understanding" of these.

science of learning this, science of learning that. All I care about is students going from 60% -> 95% in their math class!!.
Congrats to our winners: tutor Ella and student Autumn!. Autumn just finished 4th grade. At the start of the year, she scored in the low 60% range in math. But weekly tutoring sessions with Ella led to amazing growth! She recently averaged 95% in math by the end of the year! 🏆

really seems like the KA (and schoolhouse) has lost the plot on what's important. Half the 9 year olds in our country struggle to read. ~same % can't do basic arithmetic. Really a lost opportunity to help all our students realize what they're capable of (which is a lot!).

This sounds good at first glance. Why wouldn't we want to make kids more financially literate!??. Here's one reason: Half the kids in this country really struggle with basic reading and math by age 9. You can't get kids to multiply 5 by 6 or to read paragraphs and answer.
The way out of the national debt crisis is to use what Einstein called the most powerful force in the universe: compound interest. The easiest solution starts with integrating financial literacy into K-12 education & we’ll lead the way in Ohio.

This is a neat trick but content curation isn't really the problem. It's why @_MathAcademy_ is so great. They feed you the content appropriately, with all of the practice integrated so you're slowly building up competency. You're not fed chapters of content to read and sift.
"o3, study all the content Stanford / MIT / other top schools have on modern AI / ML and LLM and create a course plan focused on application". Never again pay for an online course.

An AmeriCorps Seniors program we work with lost their federal funding. I'm reminded of this article that says " every $1 Congress appropriates to AmeriCorps and Senior Corps returns more than $17 to society, program members, and the government". But aside from ROI, these programs.
