We started @lgnd_ai to make Earth data accessible and understandable for people and AI. Today, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve raised $9M to help bring that vision to life. Over the past year, our team has built tools that turn raw satellite imagery into insight and action.

Due to regulation and need for huge capital, only the intended, inefficient insurers benefit from vertical integration. But they loose almost all that value from historical inefficiencies. Meanwhile all new entrants who can use tech to create value, cannot verticalize due to

Quietly building @KindergartenVC with my old friend (from Kindergarten), the amazing @djrosent , over the past 4 years has been such a joy and highlight. Being at the intersection of operating, investing, analysis, and the incredible product/pod/service Ben and David have built

Anybody seen an average seed round post-money valuation chart over the past 20 years, adjusted for inflation? Definitely grown, but curious how much inflation has impacted this.

Can someone who was very excited about Mikel’s experiment explain to me what happened in Argentina? The hype on Milei was next level beginning of the year.

Why don’t we build all the data centers in Alaska? Fiber is the cheapest part of the BOM. Much more so than cooling, property costs, or gas pipelines. Drill, build gas plant behind the meter, giant data centers kept naturally cool. Run tons of fiber down.

I’ve spent my career building startups that require unique talents. Often on a team or 10-20 10-20% of the team is on h1-bs. I’ve always felt it my duty as an American who has one side that came over pre-1776, to have the company sponsor and pay to bring the best and brightest to

Perhaps Republicans are realizing they elected an idiot who will hurt the economy with tariffs, surrender to China on the world stage, abolish their freedom of speech, engage in unprecedented corruption, and take away their cancer treatments
There has been a pronounced increase in GOP pessimism about the direction of the country over the last month. This is like Democrats under Biden in 2023 levels of dissatisfaction under a co-partisan president. Independents are more sour on direction than any pt in 2024

The first amendment doesn’t mean you can say whatever without consequences. It does say you can say whatever about the government without consequences. That’s free speech.

This h1b fee is terrible for innovation. Startups can’t afford this. The mag7 can. This doesn’t benefit America, it locks talent into the incumbents, and disadvantages startups. Startups create net job creation and push the envelop. The VC class w/ connects to gov should standup
