Just for clarity, every MAC school is closer to UMass than Saint Louis is, and all but one of them are closer to UMass than Davidson.
More importantly the MAC is 100% public research institutions. That aligns much better with UMass in the most traditional sense.
UMass is about as A-10 as A-10 gets, so this is just the latest example of how chasing football money degrades the basketball product. It's weird as hell to think about the Minutemen playing league games against Toledo and Northern Illinois, but here we are.
