LA’s dysfunction is real but this isn’t a bike lane. The city requires the street widening *for cars* — it’s called “right of way dedication,” you can see it all over LA and he could have talked to the many advocates who have been trying to end this policy

Today Commissioner Rodriguez announced the activation of select Open Streets as Trick or Streets on Halloween night from 4-8PM. On 10/31, for the first time, dozens of Open Streets across NYC will have activities and even more will expand their hours for trick-or-treaters. 🎃

The uncut tape makes it seem like these issues aren’t isolated or rare. Feels like there’s a chance this kind of behavior might be business as usual among some pols. Seems to me that LA needs nothing less than a systematic deconstruction & rebuild from the ground up.
