The maternity budget cuts are from ring fenced funding made available following Donna Ockenden’s report into maternity failings at Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals Trust. It’s clear to see why families feel betrayed and blind-sided.

🚨 Revealed by @HSJnews that ring fenced maternity safety funding has been slashed by from £95 million to £2 million. This feels really at odds with a health secretary who only a few months ago met with families who’ve experienced devastating harm and loss.
