This is my grandfather Harry Hanson (& his dog tags)who fought in the battle of the Somme which began 104 years ago today (british casualties of 60,000 on this 1st day) #somme104 -an early memory is him removing a small dot of shrapnel from his chin & putting in a tin by the fire

I found this photo outside Tesco in Holywell during my shop earlier today. It says "Mum and Dad, 1955" on the back. Please retweet to help me try to get it back to the owner! Too much of a beautiful photo for someone to lose. Thank you 👍🏻

Downing Street vetoed UK access to the EU pandemic warning system. It is so vigorously insane

The advantage to spending most of Sunday travelling for work is I passed by #Vimy at sunset. I think I may have just found my new favourite #WW1 site, especially with those unnervingly realistic sculptures. Need to return and give the park and nearby @CWGC sites a proper explore

The UK Labour Party needs a Leader that has the values & vision to rise to the challenge ahead, someone who is dynamic & different with the ability to connect with communities in every corner of our country. I believe that person is @lisanandy #LabourLeadership

So here it is. Zuck has taken his orders from Trump. Facebook is refusing to ban lies in political ads. It's refusing to ban microtargeting of political ads. Zuckerberg has sanctioned the delivery of toxic lies to voters in darkness...for profit. https://t.co/cHU2idzbhV

The company was under intense pressure to adjust its policies. But in this presidential election year, no big changes are planned.

Tonight the people of the Netherlands as part of #Lichtjesavond will place candles on the graves of those who gave all to Liberate them in 1944/45. What an amazing thing to do each #ChristmasEve.

The Christmas truce was a series of unofficial ceasefires along the Western Front around Christmas 1914. In the week leading up to the 25th, French, German, and British soldiers crossed trenches and no mans land to exchange seasonal greetings. and exchange food and souvenirs.
