Sigh. I've finally ended my NYT subscription. I think it's important to pay for journalism but I expect it to be professional journalism. I've lost count of how many times they've put a terrible take in the headline and had to change it after backlash.
Oh, it is the NY Times again. Russia constantly terrorizes Ukrainian civilians, but when Ukraine strikes with sheer ingenuity Russian military base, is it a war escalation? No, that is a de-escalation. Ukraine would win the war faster. Is NY Times getting paid by Russians?

FYSA what was actually promised in Istanbul in 1999 was for Russia to remove its troops from Moldova and Georgia. They actually sent more of them.

After Russia has bombed multiple civilian targets in Kyiv, there is no reason for Ukraine not to bomb targets in Moscow. They could start with the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff & Lubyanka.

The question on my mind: is the pipeline sabotage a "Cortes burning his ships" moment for forestall a coup by Russian elites by showing that there is no going back to 'before'? Or is it idiocy and delusion? Truly, with Russia, there is no way to know for sure.
