DHS says the stormtrooper raid on Canal Street in NYC yesterday targeted "criminal activity relating to selling counterfeit goods"—not deportations. Yet another reminder that fighting against deportations *requires* fighting against policing & criminalization, beyond ICE.
DHS officials say a federal raid in Chinatown today was focused on the sale of counterfeit goods, saying it involved agents from ICE, the FBI and other agencies. DHS says individuals obstructed the agents and at least one of them was arrested for assault on a federal officer.
