#sqlhelp xp_logininfo 'group', 'members' lists a domain\user login. the group is sysadmin on SQL server. xp_logininfo 'domain\user', 'all' shows no rows for that user, and indeed that user cannot login. Any ideas? Reboot already done. SQL2012 SP4 + sec updates.

Turns out when you write a query that's 5MB of text, SQL Server doesn't want to execute it. Go figure. Also, a human didn't write it, it programmed a machine to write the query, and that was the first step into oblivion.

So I made the decision to step waaaaaay out of my comfort zone and launch as an independent consultant. Still crossing i's and dotting t's on the paperwork/ infra setup but announcement is live now at my employer. I'm happy to take emails or phone calls or PMs about new work :).
