Thank you to all the MN Dept of Health and State of MN staff who made it possible for me to get my COVID-19 vaccination yesterday! I will admit I experienced tears of immense appreciation and gratitude as the needle went into the my arm (skillfully done I might add).

Public trust is not a renewable resource. Our health agencies must be unwavering in their commitment to evidence, transparency, and integrity. Anything less jeopardizes the public’s ability to make informed decisions and ultimately puts more people at risk.
As public health citizens, we rely on agencies like the CDC for science-based guidance. But last night’s change to its “Vaccines & Autism” page - now hinting at a possible link - deeply undermines trust. When credible institutions shift to echo anti-vax rhetoric, we all lose.

As critical as I am of the CDC right now, I know many dedicated experts are still there. If we could hear their voices—not just political appointees—I’d feel differently. But the current messaging isn’t science-based, so I can’t trust the CDC or FDA at this time.
