Being on the road full time with the

Not sure how I feel about this. Whilst it confirms we weren’t mad for thinking this during the game, it really disempowers the referee. Is it going too far, or just a modern reality of being a referee? Players don’t often get publicly criticised by their coaches. Coaches often

Bigger sports like Basketball and Cricket already do the same thing. We’re behind.
The aim is to improve the spectacle. Better spectacle = more fans/viewers and subsequently more money to grow the game.
It’s definitely worth a trial.

Waratahs very clinical so far. Strong aggressive carries and great attacking breakdown. Not giving the Crusaders a sniff at their ball.
Also coming away with points when needed.
Edmed getting plenty of touches and pulling the strings well.

Reds have so many ball players, it’s taking pressure off HMP in his first start.
Rebels need to get some pressure on the ball or some linespeed in defence. Too easy for the Reds so far.

As much as we admire NZ rugby for their offload and exciting play, their ability to go route 1, get dominant carries and being absolitely lethal at attacking breakdown is unmatched. Such an underrated aspect of their play

Force game management and ball movement has been great so far. Donaldson off the tee has maid the Rebels pay for any little mistake. Plenty of time left, but Rebels need to play smart and avoid line outs

I guess rescinding his red card is a good thing, so it doesn’t stay on his record. I’m just wary of the governing body criticising its referees. Maybe this is a healthy middle ground. They shouldn’t be exempt from criticism, however I also think we need to help them as much as

Don’t see how it does. Players are told they’re being replaced the following year all the time. Surely just a reality these days in international coaching. For the ABs to have their best coach appointed they have to move now before he’s snapped up elsewhere. Market forces?

Incentives to earn more, or mandatory obligations for his agreed salary? As you know, the CBA includes promotional activities as apart of athletes job description or “obligation” (for want of a better word). Is that not enough?

Unsure how player welfare has been compromised in this instance? I don’t see anything wrong with referring and trusting it to the TMO. However, I did think it was still possible to upgrade even further to a full-game red card. This certainly seems appropriate here.

I think depth of bench is a big factor mate. NZ teams often lift the tempo later in the game and if we have a couple injuries etc I don’t think we’ve typically had the depth of squad to cope

Agree Tim. Pathetic that our game has dipped this far. Clearly no poor intent. Pure rugby incident. For the game to be ruined by such a dubious decision is sad. That being said, Ireland deserve everything they’ve achieved, and more. Clearly the best team in the world for a while

I think we need to do everything we can to protect our referees. I have really enjoyed the experimentation during Super Rugby, whereby an act deemed at least a yellow is dealt with by the TMO in the background. Less emotion. Allows the game to flow and takes heat off the on field

Have rewatched a few times. Murphy indicates advantage as shown in the picture. However it could potentially have been from the ruck before. If so, very late call…? But might explain it
