This is only my opinion but if you want to mitigate learning loss from the pandemic for your child (or any child) read aloud to or with them from a challenging & engaging book at or slightly above their comfort range for independent reading as much as you possibly can.

Really important to leverage student habits to ensure remote learning feels as close to their normal classroom as possible. 'As always... You know what to do...'👇👇👇 @MarineSecondary

It's vital that students don't feel demotivated if they get an incorrect answer in an online lesson. Love how @mrndavies encourages students to 'own and track' their errors. Wouldn't you feel motivated to self correct (in green pen of course!) @MarineSecondary

Starting in March my team & I watched as much video of online instruction as we could. We put what we learned into this guide, designed to help teachers deliver the best possible online teaching. Plenty of video clips too. Available in late August. https://t.co/0hwywhZL03

Totally agree. +1.00 predicted improvement in @MarineSecondary this year that will undoubtedly be moderated down by Ofqual due to the historic performance system. Children and staff's hard work unrecognised.

Important now more than ever to 'Name the Steps' when modelling tricky concepts - just another strategy we're using at @MarineAcademy to maintain high expectations for our students. #tapintoMAP See the full video on quadratic sequences here: https://t.co/0jZAbIPt2S

I love the way that our Head of English @MarineAcademy opens his recorded lesson. Inspired by work from @Thecpdparadox he is trying to fill the 'motivation vacuum' by reminding students why it's important. Link to the full lesson: https://t.co/G8Cha0TUhs
