The feelings of despair are real. I understand why. Palestinians have not experienced this level of devastation, seeing it all live, in our history. The Nakba (1947-49) is the only comparable period, with over 750k+ displaced and 15k+ massacred.

I’ve noticed a trend that diminishes the role mass mobilizations play in our struggle. I believe this dismissal is in part rooted in feelings of powerlessness and despair, as well as a misreading of our situation on multiple levels. I’ll expand on that here:

Its not symbolic to generate public pressure on the ruling class of this country. I don't believe the left is capable of interrupting mechanisms of war here in any meaningful or sustained way. Nor do I believe mobilizations are the reasons that hasn't developed.

Mass mobilizations don't mean holding a sign in the street and calling reps, and i'm not sure why you assume that they haven't been aimed at these goals. For the organizations carrying this work, the targets and tactics of varied.
