Precisely. They are designed solely as recombination machines; their rigid inbuilt goal is to produce cohesive structure, not coherent truth.
Why wouldn't it? It's a large language model, not a truth telling machine. I wish people would understand these things are not all-knowing oracles you can ask any question you want and get a real answer as if it's. intelligent.

11 books a year? maybe among people inclined to answer a survey like that (and probably mostly booktok fluff at that), but I'm calling total BS that it's that high among Americans as a whole.
