Fourth graders learned about animal adaptations, planned fictional critters, created custom heads with ⁦@glowforge⁩, used ⁦@tinkercad⁩ designed parts, assembled & painted, and wrote descriptive plaques.

AI is developing at an exponential rate, and anyone in the creation or education game will be impacted very soon if not already. I found views from @salkhanacademy and @harari_yuval useful takes on different angles. Watch both imho.

I'm SO impressed by the thought process here. In an amazing way, it feels like turning additive manufacturing into subtractive. Not quite the right metaphor, but it's turning the process on its head in such an innovative way.

The 5th grade ⁦@WoodlandPK8⁩ are deep into game projects that involve ⁦@scratch⁩, ⁦@tinkercad⁩ game pieces, cardboard engineering, their humanities studies, and art. These pieces are related to a chess game revolving around the US Civil War.

Here's my @Raspberry_Pi Pico bot. Chassis is @tinkercad-designed, code is @micropython via @thonnyide. It moves fwd, backs up in a rando direction when sensing an obstacle, goes fwd again. Grt coding for 6-8th+ grades. Parts are $34, minus chassis, which could be made otherwise.

During the first part of robotics this trimester, we joked about making Roombas. One student asked for my chassis design in ⁦@tinkercad⁩, and then integrated it into his own Roomba-esque design. ⁦@Raspberry_Pi⁩ Pico is the brains of this work in progress.
