Labour councillor defects to the Greens in Brighton. Cllr Bruno de Oliveira joins the Green Group on Brighton and Hove City Council - bringing the total to 10. This is the first defection in Brighton since @ZackPolanski was elected as Leader in September last year.

Exclusive: Third Labour councillor defects to the Green Party in January alone - bringing the total of Labour defections to 19 since Zack became leader in September. Lucy Musk, who represents Haldens ward in Welwyn Hatfield, has joined the Green Party from Labour.

Big news in Greenwich, where Labour councillor Lakshan Saldin has defected to the Green Party and becomes the first councillor to switch to the Greens. This is just months after Tamasin Rhymes won the party’s first seat from Labour in June.
